8th Annual Westside Ribbon Festival

Theme: Celebrating Nature

The Westside Ribbon Festival is a creative and delightful performance opportunity for music students. It’s non-competitive and non-adjudicated event where students can perform and have fun sharing music with the audience. Students can choose up to three categories and receive a colorful ribbon for each. This year’s theme is Celebrating Nature. Repertoire and artwork that fit the theme are highly encouraged.

1) Solo: Any instrument or voice, any style. Classical, pop, musicals, movie music, all welcome.

2) Artwork: Encourage your students to create artwork for the event! Students’; music-themed or nature-themed artwork will be displayed at the festival. Posters, dioramas, mobiles, sculptures, anything a student wants to make. * see Artwork Instructions below.

3) Ensemble: duets, trios, quartets. A chance to play with a peer, a sibling, or a grown-up. We’d love to see more ensembles this year’s, trios, quartets. This is your opportunity to perform together with a musical peer or an adult.

Fees: Participation fees are $20 per student. Non-member teachers are welcome to register through a member, with an additional $5 fee.

Registration: Opens December 1, closes January 15. Register by logging into the OMTA Website to access the Regista Dashboard under “Teacher Resources”. Repertoire choices are final after January 15.

As per OMTA policy, if sheet music is needed for performance, use original books or purchased digital sheet music. No photocopies are allowed unless needed for page-turns.
